Description
Angle Wire Bending and Loop Forming Pliers
Angle wire pliers are a classic tool for bends and loops in archwire. Many clinicians learn wire work on this pattern. We offer three options, and you can pick up any single one.
A plier with a long history
The Angle pattern has been part of ortho work for a long time. It handles general bends, loops and small changes. So it often sits on the tray for routine visits.
With Cutter, Style 2 or Standard
- With Cutter: bends, loops and trims round wire of .014” to .020”.
- Style 2: an alternative pattern of the same plier, good for round wire to .028”.
- Standard: the main pattern, also taking round wire up to .028”.
On rectangular wire, Style 2 and the Standard each go to .022” x .028”. Since Style 2 is a second drawing of the same plier, please check the photo to see which shape you prefer.
Light wire or heavy archwire
If you trim wire often, With Cutter saves a step. However, its cutter limits it to lighter wire. For heavier archwire, then, the Standard or Style 2 is the better choice.
Stay in range
Each option has its own rated size. Therefore, check the figure before you bend stiff wire with your Angle wire pliers. This keeps the beaks aligned for longer.
Wipe, dry and look
Clean the plier after each use, then dry it fully. Also, look at the tips now and then to make sure they meet.
Ordering this plier
Each one follows our specification, and the checks are carried out in the United States. The stainless steel is compliant with ASTM F899. It ships to you non-sterile; following a clean and sterilisation cycle, it is good for reuse. Rest easy: three years against manufacturing defects is our pledge on each option. For a different loop shape, see the Young loop plier. Our orthodontic bending tools and order help have more.
For professional use. Please see our sterilisation advice and delivery times page.
