Description
Amalgam Restorative Set, 17 Pieces
An amalgam filling has a set rhythm. You numb, prepare, build a matrix, pack, carve and burnish. This amalgam restorative set holds a tool for every one of those steps.
Numbing and preparation
The winged aspirating syringe takes 1.8 ml cartridges. Once the tooth is numb, the EXD 5 explorer checks the lesion. Then excavator 18 removes soft dentin, and the calcium hydroxide placer lines deeper areas where needed.
Building the wall
Class II cavities need a temporary wall. The universal Tofflemire matrix retainer holds a band around the tooth, so the amalgam has a form to fill. Before that, the Ivory rubber dam clamp forceps, 17 cm, help you place a clamp if you isolate.
Carry, pack and carve
The M/J amalgam carrier takes mix from the amalgam well to the cavity. Next, the two Mar 0/1 pluggers condense it in layers. After that, the CVHL 1/2 carver and the cleoid-discoid CD 3/6 restore grooves and cusps.
The finishing pass
- Burnisher 211 for smooth margins
- B29/34 titanium burnisher, light in the hand
- Articulating paper forceps, 12 cm, for the bite check
- London College cotton forceps for pellets
When amalgam is the better match
Pick this tray if you still place amalgam in posterior teeth. However, if most of your fillings use resin, the composite tray suits you more. Either way, one order of matched pieces saves the hassle of chasing singles, and your team gets the same feel in every tray.
Ordering, warranty and care
We commission the set made to our specification and see it inspected in the United States. Steel parts conform to ASTM F899. If an amalgam piece fails, pluggers, carvers and the Tofflemire retainer hold three years against manufacturing defects, letting your practice claim. Expect a non-sterile delivery; clean and sterilize before use, and the tray is ready to reuse. Look through our dental set collection, the Composite Restorative Set, or the help page.
