Description

Amalgam Instruments

Small preparations leave little room for a bulky tool. This 1.2 mm amalgam instrument addresses that problem with a slim working end. According to our supplier catalogue, it measures 130 mm overall with a working diameter of 1.2 mm. It comes in two versions, Straight and Curved, and the catalogue lists it in the section beside its amalgam well.

What 1.2 mm Means at the Chair

A diameter of 1.2 mm is fine enough to enter a narrow cavity without crowding the walls. As a result, the clinician can deliver or work small amounts of material where a standard tool would not fit. For that reason, the instrument suits conservative preparations and other confined spaces.

Straight Versus Curved

The Straight version gives direct, in-line access. It works best when the preparation faces you, for example on the occlusal surface of a lower premolar. The Curved version, on the other hand, angles the tip so you can reach distal and posterior sites. Many clinicians therefore keep one of each in the restorative kit.

Check the Photos Before Ordering

The catalogue gives the length and diameter but does not describe the mechanism in detail. So please view the product images to confirm the design matches your technique. If anything is unclear, our team can answer questions before you buy.

U.S. Inspection and the Warranty

Each instrument is reviewed in the United States before shipping. It is not sterile when delivered, so sterilize it before clinical use. Wipe amalgam residue from the tip promptly after each case, because hardened material is harder to remove later. Both versions are guaranteed for three years against manufacturing defects on our standard policy.

Instrument steel follows ASTM F899. More restorative tools appear in diagnostic, periodontal and restorative instruments. To hold your mixed material within reach, add a stainless steel amalgam well, and read our FAQs for more.
