Description
Calcium Hydroxide Applicators
Deep preparations often need a thin protective liner before the restoration goes in. A calcium hydroxide applicator carries a tiny dab of that paste to the deepest point of the cavity. Its small ball tip picks up just enough material, then lets you dot it onto the dentin precisely. As a result, the liner stays where you want it and off the enamel walls.
Why the Tip Is So Small
Liners work best as thin layers. A large instrument tends to smear paste up the walls. There it can weaken the seal of the final restoration. The fine ball end on this placer, by comparison, deposits a controlled spot. You then tease it flat with light touches before it sets.
Single End, Double End or With Mini Spatula
Three versions are listed in the catalogue, and each suits a slightly different routine:
- Single End: one placer tip on a plain handle, the simplest choice
- Double End: a placer at both ends, so a second tip is ready if the first picks up set material
- With Mini Spatula: a placer at one end and a small spatula at the other, for mixing base and catalyst on a pad
If your assistant mixes the paste, the Single End or Double End is usually enough. On the other hand, a dentist who mixes and places alone will appreciate the spatula version, because one instrument covers both steps.
Cleaning Set Liner From the Tip
Calcium hydroxide paste sets quickly, especially in a warm operatory. So wipe the tip on gauze between dabs, and soak the instrument soon after the appointment. Next, it needs processing through your sterilizer, since we ship it non-sterile.
Quality You Can Count On
The applicator is formed from stainless steel. Before release, our Georgia team in the United States sights down each shank. That confirms the ball end runs true. If that tip cracks or loosens because of a production fault, the applicator carries cover of three years against manufacturing defects.
Check the ASTM F899 materials standard, explore our diagnostic and restorative collection, and pick up a 2 mm amalgam instrument for the filling that follows. You will find payment and return answers on the FAQ page.
Liner placers are sold to trained clinical staff only; our cleaning and autoclave guidance and dispatch information explain the rest.
