Description
Aderer 3-Jaw Wire Bending Pliers
Aderer 3-jaw pliers make bends in heavier wire and clasps. Two jaws sit on one side and one on the other. When you squeeze, the wire bends in a single, crisp step.
How three jaws bend
The single jaw presses between the pair. As a result, the wire takes a bend at one exact point. This gives you more control than a two-beak plier in stiff wire.
Clamp Pattern or Standard
We offer two options, and either can go in your cart alone. The Clamp Pattern is the Aderer clamp plier for contouring and bending wire. Its catalogue line gives .76 mm, but prints the inch figure as .30”, so please ask us if the size matters. Meanwhile, the Standard pattern handles round wire between .014” and .030”. On top of that, it takes rectangular wire to .022” x .028”.
Where three jaws shine
- Clasp work on removable appliances
- Sharp bends in stiff round wire
- Adjusting springs and arms
Bending or contouring?
If you mostly bend and adjust, the Standard will cover you. However, if you shape wire along a curve, the Clamp Pattern of the Aderer 3-jaw pliers may suit you better. Check the photos, then pick the one that fits your work.
Three jaws in line
All three jaws must line up to bend well. So look at them after each cleaning. If one looks out of line, stop using the plier and get in touch.
Buying a three-jaw plier
Both patterns follow our own specification, and we inspect them in the United States. As for the metal, the stainless steel follows the ASTM F899 standard. Each plier ships non-sterile; after cleaning and sterilisation it is back in service for the next case. Also, your purchase date starts the clock on three years against manufacturing defects. For loop work, compare it with the Aderer loop forming plier. Our orthodontic bending pliers and FAQ have more.
