Description
Aderer Wire Bending and Loop Forming Pliers
Aderer bending pliers use the three-jaw idea. Its paired jaw meets a single opposing jaw to press the wire into a crisp bend. That makes them a strong pick for clasps and for bends in heavier wire. We offer four options: 13 cm, Large, Medium and Small.
What Each Size Takes
The catalogue gives clear wire figures for three of the options. Read them before you choose, because the sizes differ.
- Large: round wire of .020” through .036”; edgewise to .022” x .028”
- Medium: round wire of .014” through .028”; edgewise also to .022” x .028”
- Small: round wire of .014” through .020”; edgewise to .021” x .025”
- 13 cm: a separate pattern of the Aderer wire, arch and clasp plier
Where the 13 cm Option Fits
The 13 cm plier comes from a different catalogue list. It is still an Aderer wire, arch and clasp plier. However, the catalogue gives no wire figures for it. So check the photo, and keep to wire you would trust to a plier of that length.
Choosing by Wire
So light round wire points to the Small. Mid-range archwire suits the Medium. When you bend thicker clasp wire, the Large has the widest round range. Each size is a separate purchase, which lets you add sizes over time.
Clasp Work in the Lab
Three-jaw pliers shine in lab clasp work. For example, one squeeze can set a firm bend in clasp wire. Then a light touch with a loop plier adds the finer detail.
Look After the Jaws
A three-jaw plier depends on all three tips meeting cleanly. Check them often. If one jaw shows a burr or a chip, stop using it on fine wire. Also, never force wire above the rated size.
Our spec guides how it is made. Since the box holds it non-sterile, wash and sterilise it ahead of the first case; after that, it serves case after case.
Pick any size of these Aderer bending pliers, and the warranty you receive reaches three years against manufacturing defects in full. Its steel, a stainless type, meets ASTM F899.
