Description
3-Ring Aspirating Dental Syringe
The 3-ring aspirating syringe borrows the control-syringe layout. Your thumb goes through one ring, and two fingers go through two more rings on the barrel. As a result, your whole hand locks onto the tool for a standard 1.8 ml cartridge.
Why three rings?
On a flange syringe, the fingers only push against a rest. Here, they sit inside closed rings. So you can pull the barrel toward you as well as push the plunger away. That gives firm control in both directions.
Aspiration with full grip
With fingers held in rings, a pull-back takes very little effort. You simply open the hand a little. The harpoon then draws the stopper back, and you watch for blood before you go on.
Deep blocks
For deep injections, such as the inferior alveolar block, many clinicians like the secure hold of a 3-ring aspirating syringe. In particular, it helps when you need to test more than once while you advance the needle.
- Thumb ring plus two finger rings
- Control-syringe style hold
- Harpoon that grips the stopper
Glove fit and comfort
Closed rings feel snug with thick gloves. So try the fit with the gloves you use day to day. If the rings feel tight, the 2-ring model with open loops may suit you.
Cleaning the rings
Debris can gather where the rings meet the barrel. Brush those joints, rinse well, and dry them fully before sterilisation. Also look for cracks or wear inside each ring at every check.
It reaches you non-sterile, and you can return it to service after each cleaning and sterilization. Its stainless parts match ASTM F899. Moreover, it carries a guarantee of three years against manufacturing defects. Explore anaesthetic syringes for dentists, the 2-ring syringe with open loops, or our FAQ.
