Description
Williams Plastic Filling
A Williams plastic filling instrument places pliable restorative material and shapes it before it sets or cures. Here, plastic describes the material’s soft, workable state rather than the instrument itself. Dentists use these figures for composites, liners and temporary materials. The Williams pattern comes in three figures on this page.
Fig. 0, Fig. 1 and Fig. 2
The three choices are Fig. 0, Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Each one is a separate Williams figure in our listing. However, the listing gives figure numbers only, without drawings or measurements. So we leave blade size and angle to the product photos, which show each working end clearly. Compare them side by side before you order.
Starting From Fig. 0
The series starts at Fig. 0, which is unusual among numbered patterns. Some clinicians who trained with Williams instruments remember a particular figure by number. In that case, simply order the number you know. If you are new to the series, ordering all three gives you a full set to try in real restorations.
Two Steps: Carry, Then Adapt
Plastic filling work splits into carrying and adapting. First, one end picks up a small increment and delivers it into the preparation. Next, the clinician presses it against the walls and smooths the surface. Because each step benefits from a different end shape, many dentists keep more than one figure on the tray.
Williams Figure Steel and Coverage
Williams Fig. 0, 1 and 2 are stainless steel, and each Williams figure has a United States hand check before it is boxed. Williams figures ship unsterilized; scrub and autoclave Fig. 0, 1 or 2 ahead of restorative use. Each Williams figure gets three years against manufacturing defects, Fig. 0 included.
Our stainless steel follows ASTM F899, published in the FDA standards catalogue. Look through restorative, periodontal and diagnostic tools for more fillers, compare with our Gregg Plastic Filling Instruments, and read the FAQs about ordering.
Williams fillers are supplied to trained dental professionals. Our care and sterilization page covers Williams reprocessing, and our shipping and delivery page covers Williams dispatch.
