Description
Ward Filling Instruments
A Ward filling instrument is a hand tool for carrying restorative material into a cavity and shaping it once placed. Dentists and assistants reach for it during direct restorations, when control at the margin matters more than speed. We list three Ward options taken from the filling instruments section of our supplier catalogue.
Fig. 1 and Fig. 2: The Two Ward Designs
The catalogue shows two Ward working-end designs, numbered Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. They are separate patterns, not left and right versions of one tip. Because the catalogue gives no written description of either end, the product photos are the best guide. Look closely at the blade outline and the angle of each end before you choose.
Why Fig. 1 Appears Twice
Fig. 1 is offered in two forms. The plain Fig. 1 is the first catalogue row. Fig. 1, Style 2 comes from a second row on the same catalogue page: the same figure on a different handle pattern. Our supplier leaves that Ward grip unnamed, so compare both Fig. 1 photos and pick the feel that suits you. Then, if your team already owns one style, staying with it keeps trays uniform.
Building a Restorative Setup
Many practices keep Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 together in one cassette, so both designs are ready during a single appointment. A clinician who works mainly with one figure can still order a spare, which helps when an instrument is out for reprocessing. In addition, a matching Ward carver makes a natural partner for finishing the surface.
Handling Before First Use
Our Ward placement tools are stainless steel, and every Ward Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 gets a United States inspection before boxing. Ward instruments travel unsterilized, so wash and autoclave yours ahead of the first restoration. Every Ward Fig. 1 or Fig. 2 also comes with three years against manufacturing defects on its handle and working ends.
