Description
Ward Carvers
The Ward carver is a classic restorative hand instrument for shaping amalgam while it is still workable. Once the material is condensed, the clinician uses it to remove excess and restore occlusal form. This page offers three Ward patterns from the carvers section of our supplier catalogue.
Three Ward Figures on One Page
The catalogue lists the Ward carver as Fig. 1, Fig. 1S and Fig. 2. Fig. 1 is the base pattern of the series. Fig. 1S sits right beside it as its own catalogue figure, so it is a distinct variant of that first design. Fig. 2 is the second Ward design on the page. However, the printed Ward rows carry no written notes about blade shape. So we suggest comparing the product photos side by side before you order.
Matching a Figure to Your Routine
Most clinicians pick a Ward figure by habit, usually the one they trained with. If you are replacing a worn carver, simply order the same figure number. When you build a new restorative tray, many offices stock Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 together. Then they add Fig. 1S if a team member prefers it.
This Page Versus the Ward Small Amalgam Carvers
Our catalogue carries Ward patterns in two places. This page covers the figures from the general carvers section. The small Ward series sits on the amalgam carvers page instead, with its own photos. So, if you want a smaller working end, check that listing too.
Steel, Inspection and Coverage
Every Ward carver is stainless steel, and our team checks each figure by hand in the United States before it leaves. Because it arrives non-sterile, clean and autoclave it before its first clinical use. Also, each Ward pattern earns three years against manufacturing defects under our carver warranty.
