Description
Universal Extracting Forceps
A small clinic or a mobile setup cannot always carry a forceps for every tooth. Our universal extracting forceps help here, because one figure covers more than one tooth group. We offer three English pattern figures: Fig. 1, Fig. 166 and Fig. 167.
Why a universal figure earns its place
A full set sorted by arch and side is ideal for a busy surgery. However, it takes tray space, sterilizer loads and storage room. A universal figure lets you trim that load. For example, an outreach team or a satellite office may keep one universal pattern for routine cases and add special figures later.
Fig. 1, Fig. 166 and Fig. 167 side by side
All three share one idea: a single instrument for more than one group. They differ in shape and in the teeth they suit best, so match the number to the cases you see most. If you already know one of these figures from training, start there. Otherwise, ask us before you order. We sell each figure on its own, so you can try one before you commit to more.
Limits worth knowing
A universal design trades some fit for range. As a result, it may not grip the trifurcation of an upper molar as closely as a right or left figure. Likewise, a deep or broken root often calls for a root forceps or an elevator first. So treat the universal as a strong base, not the whole kit.
Building a lean kit around it
- Start with one universal figure for routine cases.
- Add a handed pair for upper molars if you see many of them.
- Keep a root forceps nearby for fragments and broken crowns.
- Include elevators to loosen teeth before the forceps goes on.
Ordering and aftercare
Each universal figure comes from our own specification, with a hands-on check here in the United States. We picked a stainless steel that satisfies ASTM F899. Our pledge, three years against manufacturing defects, ticks from the day the parcel lands. It reaches you non-sterile, yet each scrub and autoclave pass puts it back on the tray. See all extracting forceps in our range, look at the Cohen universal pattern as another option, or read our FAQ first.
