Description
Townley, Caliper graded in mm & Inches
For quick outside measurements on the bench, the townley dental caliper is a dependable choice. The supplier catalogue lists it on the laboratory instruments page and notes that it is graded in millimetres and inches. We stock a single Townley model, so ordering is simple.
Two Units on One Scale
Because the Townley reads in both units, it fits labs that work in metric but still meet imperial sizes. For example, some burs, wires and older equipment are specified in inches. With this caliper, you can check either figure without a conversion chart.
Where the Townley Fits in a Lab
It is a general purpose gauge, rather than a specialist thickness caliper. So it suits widths and lengths on models, wax rims and components. It also checks the span of a bridge framework on its model. When you need wall thickness on a crown, an Iwanson does that better. However, for everyday outside readings, the Townley is quicker to pick up.
Comparing It With Our Other Calipers
Our range also includes the Jameson and Bow calipers, plus a 200 mm aluminium model for large work. The Townley is smaller than the aluminium caliper. Yet it has the same dual scale. Therefore many labs pair the two and cover both small and large pieces.
The Townley is stainless steel selected to the ASTM F899 specification. Our staff look it over in the United States. Townley calipers leave us non-sterile, so wash it and sterilize it if it touches a patient. If a Townley turns out faulty, our cover lasts three years against manufacturing defects, Townley scale included. The Townley is sold for trained dental and laboratory professionals. Read our reprocessing guidance and shipping terms first.
