Description
Titanium Periotome Set, 7 Pieces
A periotome slips into the gap between root and bone and cuts the ligament fibers. This titanium periotome set gives you seven blades for that work, from front teeth to molars. As a result, you can loosen a tooth with less lever force on the socket walls.
Straight blades for the front
PT2 is a straight blade for anterior teeth. PT1 is also straight but narrower, so it fits tight contacts and thin roots. You usually start with these, working round the tooth in small strokes.
Angled blades for the sides
The PPAELA has an angled blade. Its partner, the PPAEL, is angled as well but longer. Together, they reach the side faces of premolars and the lingual of lower teeth, where a straight blade would sit at a poor angle.
Posterior blades for molars
PT3 and PT4 are made for the back of the mouth. Then PT5 adds a curve, so it follows the root around a molar. With all three on the tray, you can work each root without changing your grip much.
Why titanium on these tips
Titanium is lighter than steel, so the tools feel easy in long cases. In addition, many clinicians prefer it near implant parts. The serrated grip helps you keep control with wet gloves.
Seven blades or a fuller kit?
- Choose this group if you already own forceps for the final step.
- Add atraumatic forceps if you want to grip the loose root gently.
- Pick a handle and blade kit if you prefer swap-in tips.
We set the specification, and each blade goes through inspection in the United States before dispatch. Where steel parts are present, they meet ASTM F899. You receive the kit non-sterile; it goes back into service after each cleaning and sterilization run. Should any blade show a fault from production, it stays covered for three years against manufacturing defects. Explore other clinical dental sets, look at the atraumatic forceps, or read the questions we hear most.
Professional use only. Titanium has its own care needs, so see our cleaning and sterilization notes; order timing sits on our delivery page.
