Description
Andrews-Pynchon Surgical Suction Tube, 230 mm
Periodontal and ridge procedures bleed, and irrigation adds more fluid on top. The Andrews-Pynchon suction tube is a long, rigid metal cannula. An assistant holds it near the site while the surgeon works. As a result, the bone and flap margins stay visible. This version measures 230 mm, so the hand stays well outside the lips.
Why a Metal Tube Instead of a Disposable Tip
A plastic tip flexes and can collapse against soft tissue. A stainless steel tube keeps its shape, so the assistant can rest it against a retracted flap without it bending. It also survives repeated reprocessing. Therefore, many surgical offices keep one in each tray and reserve disposables for routine hygiene.
Its Place in Crown Lengthening and Grafting Trays
Our supplier lists this tube in its crown lengthening and ridge augmentation set, alongside flap instruments. That makes sense, because both procedures reshape bone under a raised flap. First, the surgeon reflects tissue. Next, bone is shaped or graft material is packed. Meanwhile, the Andrews-Pynchon suction keeps saline and blood away, so the operator can judge contour by eye.
One Length to Order
There is a single option here: 230 mm overall. For a finer bore in tight sites, look at the Frazier aspirators linked below. Also, check that your evacuation hose adapter fits the tube end before the first case.
Reprocessing a Narrow Lumen
Blood dries quickly inside a cannula. So flush the tube with water right after surgery, then brush the lumen before it goes to the washer. It arrives non-sterile, and it needs a full cleaning and autoclave cycle before patient use. Staff in the United States inspect each tube before it leaves us. Should the metal fail, our warranty runs three years against manufacturing defects on this item.
The steel follows ASTM F899. Compare it with our Frazier surgical aspirators, see the full suction and aspiration range, or put your hose-fitting questions to our FAQs page first.
This 230 mm tube is meant for licensed dental teams in a surgical setting. Our care and sterilization notes explain lumen brushing, and shipping and delivery lists carrier options.
