Soft tissue grafting around teeth and implants demands delicate dissection in tight spaces. The Kor surgical knife comes from our supplier’s plastic surgery set. Periodontists use it where a scalpel blade feels too bulky. We list it in three variants of the Kor ½ pattern.

Kor ½, Kor ½ M and Kor ½ L Compared

All three share the Kor ½ pattern. The option names describe the blade:

• Kor ½: the base pattern, a sensible first knife for most kits.
• Kor ½ M, Micro Blade: a smaller blade for thin tissue and narrow papillae.
• Kor ½ L, Long Blade: a longer blade when you need more reach under tissue.

So choose by the depth and width of the site you treat most. Many periodontists eventually keep all three.

Working Under Thin Gingiva

Fine dissection rewards patience. First, enter through the sulcus or a small incision. Then advance the blade in short strokes, keeping it parallel to the tissue surface. Because thin gingiva perforates easily, watch the blade outline through the tissue. When resistance rises, stop and re-angle instead of forcing.

Caring for Small Blades

Micro edges dull quickly on hard surfaces. Therefore, never drop a Kor surgical knife loose into a tray. Also, clean dried blood off with a soft brush, not a scraper. In addition, check the tip under magnification after each cycle.

Quality Checks and Coverage

Every Kor knife is looked over in our United States location before dispatch. It is supplied non-sterile, so a full wash and steam cycle must come before surgery. Whether you pick the micro, long or base blade, each Kor knife carries three years against manufacturing defects, though ordinary edge dulling is not a defect.
