Description
Staude-Moore Tenaculum Forceps
The Staude-Moore tenaculum is a short forceps for holding the cervix. It measures about 17 cm, the shortest in our tenaculum range.
The shortest option
At about 17 cm, it keeps the hand close to the cervix. So small movements translate directly to the tip. Also, it stores easily in a compact office kit or a travel set.
When to reach for it
Choose it for a shallow field, a small patient or a short speculum. However, a deeper patient may call for a longer tenaculum. Therefore, clinics often keep it beside a 25 cm model.
Holding steady
The forceps grasp the cervix while the clinician works through each step. Then a sound or small dilator can pass along the canal toward the fundus. Meanwhile, the grip keeps the anatomy from shifting.
Comparing short tenacula
Our Barrett pattern measures 18 cm, and the Czerny sits near 20 cm. By contrast, the Staude-Moore tenaculum stays the most compact. Pick by the reach your procedures need and the specula you use.
Looking after Staude-Moore tenaculum
Rinse the instrument promptly after use and remove any visible tissue from the tips. After that, clean it with a pH-neutral detergent and a soft brush. Finally, dry it and rack it so water cannot pool.
