Description

Membrane Instrument, 2.0 mm

This 2.0 mm membrane instrument has a slim working tip for guiding a barrier membrane into position over a graft. Our supplier catalogue lists it in its membrane instruments section and gives the steel as stainless type AISI 303. In guided bone regeneration, a small, controlled tip like this lets you tuck membrane edges under the flap without folding them.

Why a 2.0 mm Tip Suits Membrane Work

Collagen and synthetic membranes are thin, and they crease easily once wet. A broad instrument tends to drag them. With a 2.0 mm tip, however, you can push a small section at a time and keep the rest flat. As a result, the membrane edges sit neatly beyond the defect margins.

Tucking, Smoothing and Adapting

First, trim and hydrate the membrane, then lay it over the grafted area. Next, use the tip to slide each edge under the reflected periosteum. Then, smooth the surface so it lies against bone without bubbles. Finally, check the margins before suturing, because a lifted edge is easy to fix at this point.

  • Guided bone regeneration over particulate grafts
  • Covering lateral sinus windows
  • Adapting membrane around implant threads

One Size: the 2.0 mm Version

This listing has a single option, the 2.0 mm membrane instrument itself, so ordering is simple. If you need a finer point for very small areas, we also stock a micro point placement instrument.

Inspection and Warranty

We inspect each instrument in the United States, paying attention to the tip finish. In addition, our coverage of three years against manufacturing defects protects the full length of the instrument. Please note that it ships non-sterile and must be cleaned and sterilized before surgery.

For reference, the standard for surgical steel is ASTM F899. Browse more dental implant instruments, grip and carry the barrier with our Membrane Forceps, or see the FAQs.

Made available to trained implant and periodontal clinicians only. Follow care and sterilization after each case; shipping and delivery explains how orders travel.
