Sicilia Implant Periosteal Elevators
Clean flap reflection sets up every implant step that follows. The Sicilia periosteal elevator is a named implant pattern for lifting the periosteum from the ridge. Our supplier catalogue lists it in its implant periosteals section, in two versions that share the Sicilia name.
Two Catalogue Patterns: Style 1 and Style 2
The catalogue labels both items simply as Sicilia and gives no further detail on their tips. So we sell them as Style 1 and Style 2. Please compare the two product photos to see how the working ends differ. Then pick the one that matches the tip shape you are used to, or order both to cover different flap designs.
Raising a Flap Around the Ridge
First, make your incision through to bone. Next, seat the elevator under the periosteum at a papilla or the crest. Then advance with short, controlled strokes while keeping the edge against bone. This approach lifts the tissue as one layer and avoids tearing the flap.
Why an Implant-Specific Elevator
Implant flaps are often wider than routine periodontal flaps, because the surgeon needs to see the whole ridge. Therefore a dedicated implant elevator is designed for this broader reflection. It also helps when the team must expose the buccal plate before a graft.
Every Sicilia periosteal elevator passes inspection in the United States prior to being shipped. Both Sicilia styles qualify for three years against manufacturing defects, Style 1 and Style 2 equally. The elevator reaches you non-sterile; reprocess it fully before first use.
Elevator steel is chosen in line with ASTM F899 for stainless instruments. Browse the broader Dental Implant Instruments range, and compare another implant pattern in the Buser periosteal elevators. General store questions are on the FAQs section.
