Description

Serrated Elevator

This serrated dental elevator has a toothed blade that bites into the root surface instead of sliding off it. Choose from 2.2 mm, 3 mm and 4 mm widths. The 4 mm also comes in Left and Right angled versions.

Why Serrations Help on a Smooth Root

A plain blade can skid on a wet root. The serrations, however, give the tip grip, so small moves turn into lift. As a result, you can work with less force and more control.

Five Options and How to Pick

  • 2.2 mm: the narrowest, for tight spaces and slim roots
  • 3 mm: a middle width for general use
  • 4 mm: the broadest blade, for larger roots
  • Angled 4 mm Left: reach on one side
  • Its mirror, 4 mm Right: reach on the other

Each option sells singly. A common start is one narrow and one wide blade. Then add the angled pair later.

The Case for Both Angled Versions

The Left and Right versions form a mirror pair. With both on hand, you can reach the same root face from either side without twisting your wrist. So if you buy one, think about its partner too.

Working the Serrated Blade

Seat the blade in the PDL space with a finger rest close by. Then wedge or rotate in short moves. Keep the next tooth out of play unless it comes out too. Also, spare the buccal plate where an implant will follow.

Cleaning Between the Teeth of the Blade

Debris packs into the grooves. So scrub them with a small brush soon after use. An ultrasonic bath then reaches the gaps. Dry the blade well before the cycle.

Ordering the Serrated Dental Elevator

Our drawings set the specification, and one US quality look closes the job. The serrated steel is a stainless type held to ASTM F899. Since it travels non-sterile, prep it through your own cleaning and sterilization loop; it then goes back on the tray for reuse. Our cover includes three years against manufacturing defects on every width and angle. For cutting fibers instead, try the grooved luxating elevator.
