Description
Rubber Dam Frames
Once the clamp is seated, the dam must stay taut so it does not fall into the field of view. A rubber dam frame holds the sheet stretched outside the mouth, which keeps the working area open and the lips covered. Intrace USA, a distributor in Atlanta, offers the frame in two sizes, and every frame gets a visual check in the United States prior to shipping.
Adults and Children Sizes
The catalogue lists two versions on its rubber dam page:
- Adults: the larger frame for treating adult patients.
- Children: the smaller frame for paediatric patients and smaller faces.
Choose by the patient group you treat most. For example, a general practice may keep several adult frames and one or two for children. In contrast, a paediatric office will mostly need the Children size.
Setting Up the Dam on the Frame
First, punch the holes and place the clamp. Next, stretch the dam over the clamp and the tooth. Then hook the dam edges onto the frame so the sheet sits evenly without wrinkles. Also, confirm the frame sits clear of the eyes and the nostrils so the patient stays comfortable. A smooth sheet improves visibility, while an overstretched one can pull the clamp off the tooth.
Making Frames Last
Frames are simple, but bent arms let the dam sag. So store them flat rather than under heavy cassettes. Each frame is delivered non-sterile; wash, dry and process it according to your clinic protocol before first use. The frame carries our assurance for three years against manufacturing defects.
Our frames are produced from stainless steel to ASTM F899. Browse isolation tools in our restorative and diagnostic collection, pair a frame with Rubber Dam Clamps in the figure you prefer, or open our frequently asked questions page.
Designed for use by trained dental professionals. Our instrument care page and shipping and delivery page answer most questions after delivery.
