These Ricard retractor blades are replacement parts for the Ricard self-retaining abdominal retractor. They come as blades only, so you fit them to a frame you already own.

Side blade sizes

Side blades come in 50 x 58, 60 x 80 and 72 x 85 mm. The smallest suits a slim patient or a short incision. By contrast, the 72 x 85 mm option reaches deeper tissue.

Middle blade sizes

Middle blades come in 55 x 70 and 80 x 90 mm. Meanwhile, the middle one holds the end of the wound away from the field. So pair its depth with the side blades you run.

A component, not a set

This listing covers the blades alone, with no spreader. However, you can buy the complete Ricard frame from us as well. Then the frame and blades arrive ready to work together.

Spares for the tray

Blades take the most handling in any frame set. Also, a spare middle blade keeps a set in service if one goes missing. Therefore, many sites stock extra Ricard retractor blades.

Cleaning Ricard retractor blades

Wash each blade separately rather than leaving it mounted on the spreader. Next, check the fitting end for residue and brush it clean. Finally, dry the blades and store them flat so the edges stay true.
