Periodontal and implant flaps vary from broad ridge exposures to delicate work between teeth. The prichard periosteal elevator covers both ends of that range on this page. You can choose the Standard pattern or the #3S Papilla version. Each one lifts tissue from bone, but they target different areas.

The Standard Pattern

The catalogue lists the Standard option simply as the Prichard elevator, within its periosteal elevator range. It is the general-purpose choice for reflecting a full-thickness flap along the ridge. So it suits implant exposures, crown lengthening and osseous surgery. Most clinicians who order one Prichard start here.

The #3S Papilla at 180 mm

The second option is the #3S Papilla, 180 mm long. Our supplier places it with its papilla elevators rather than the broad periosteals. That grouping signals its purpose: gentle lifting of interdental papillae without tearing them. Therefore it is the better pick for papilla preservation flaps and tight embrasures.

Which Option to Choose

If your work is mainly implant ridges, the Standard elevator will see the most use. However, if you often reflect papillae around natural teeth, add the #3S as well. Many periodontists keep both, because one flap can require each shape. Compare the photos to see how the working ends differ.

Steel, Review and Coverage

Both versions are stainless steel. A team member in the United States checks each elevator tip before it ships. They are sent non-sterile, so wash and autoclave them before seating them in a surgical cassette. Each Prichard elevator, Standard or #3S, is guaranteed three years against manufacturing defects.
