Description

Pin & Fragment Extracting Forceps

These pin and fragment forceps pick up the small things that larger forceps miss. Their fine tips reach root slivers, broken pins and loose debris in a socket or cavity. You can order a straight Fig. 01 or a curved Fig. 02.

Straight Fig. 01 or curved Fig. 02

  • Fig. 01 – straight, for direct access where you can see the target in line
  • Fig. 02 – curved, for sites where a bend helps you see around the tips
  • Each figure is a separate item, so you can buy one or both

What fine tips are for

Small pieces need small contact. For this reason, fine tips let you grasp a fragment without pushing it deeper. They also help with a broken pin, which can be slippery and thin. In contrast, a standard extraction beak is too wide for these jobs.

Choosing your figure

Think about access first. In the front of the mouth, the straight figure often gives a clear line. Further back, though, the curved figure can keep your hand out of view. Many clinics keep both, because sites change from case to case.

Light hands, clear view

Good light and suction come first. Then open the tips just wide enough to surround the piece. Close gently and lift straight out. If the fragment slips, pause, clear the field and try again rather than squeezing harder.

Checking the tips

Fine tips need care to stay true. So look at them under good light after each cycle. They should meet evenly along their length. If one tip looks bent, set the forceps aside and contact us.

Order notes and support

Our specification guides the build, and our staff in the United States look over each piece. The stainless steel agrees with ASTM F899. It arrives without sterile packing; clean and sterilize it, and it is ready for reuse. Tiny tips, big backing: any production flaw sits inside three years against manufacturing defects on both pin and fragment forceps. For heavier root work, try the straight T.C. root forceps, or return to our forceps for extraction. The Intrace question list may help.
