Pikos Sinus Lift Instruments
The Pikos sinus lift pattern gives the surgeon two tip sizes for working the membrane free through a lateral window. Each instrument is stainless steel and is sold individually. In the supplier catalogue, they appear as Pikos-Sinus-1 and Pikos-Sinus-2, alongside related Misch sinus patterns.
#1 at 3 mm, #2 at 5 mm
The options are clearly sized. The #1 pattern has a 3 mm tip, while the #2 pattern has a 5 mm tip. So the smaller end begins the release at the window edge, where space is tight. Then the larger end continues the elevation across the floor once the membrane is mobile.
- #1, 3 mm: initial release at the window margin
- #2, 5 mm: broader elevation across the sinus floor
Why Two Sizes Work Better Than One
A wide tip spreads force and covers ground quickly. However, it cannot enter a narrow gap safely. A small tip, on the other hand, slips in easily but takes longer over a large area. With both on the tray, the surgeon moves from one to the other as the space opens.
Building a Sinus Tray
Many clinicians buy the pair together, since a lift usually calls for both. Also, if one size sees heavier use, a second copy of that pattern keeps the case moving while the first is reprocessed.
Delivered Non-Sterile, Covered Three Years
Each Pikos instrument is reviewed by staff in the United States before it ships. It is supplied non-sterile, so clean and autoclave it before entering a sinus case. Both sizes carry three years against manufacturing defects, whether you order one or the pair.
Instrument steel aligns with ASTM F899. To hold the flap during the lift, add the Misch Sinus Retractor. Find other sinus tools in Dental Implant Instruments. Lead time questions? The FAQs help.
