Description
Peck-Joseph Fine Operating Scissors
Peck-Joseph scissors are a variant of the Joseph pattern for nasal and facial surgery. They measure 14.5 cm.
Straight or curved
Straight blades suit a direct cut. Meanwhile, curved blades follow the nasal contour.
A 14.5 cm length
The length adds a little reach over the standard Joseph. So it suits deeper undermining.
Fine blades
The narrow blades suit thin tissue. Also, they pass through small incisions.
Building a nasal set
Many surgeons keep a Joseph, a Peck-Joseph and Fomon scissors together. Then each step has a matching blade. Because they are all fine patterns, handle them as a group when cleaning. In addition, the extra length helps when the skin envelope is thick. Also, the fine tips keep the dissection controlled. If you already use the classic Joseph pattern, try this variant on your next case. The added length makes a clear difference in thicker skin. Then keep whichever pair suits your technique best.
Cleaning Peck-Joseph scissors
Clean the fine blades gently after use. Next, rinse and dry fully. Then fit a tip guard before storage.
