Description
Joseph Fine-Operating Scissors
Joseph scissors are fine operating scissors used widely in rhinoplasty. They measure 14 cm.
Straight or curved
Straight blades suit a direct cut. On the other hand, curved blades follow the nasal framework.
Nasal work
Surgeons use them to undermine the skin over the nose. Also, they trim soft tissue.
Fine blades
The narrow blades pass through small incisions. So they suit closed approaches.
Joseph or Peck-Joseph
Both patterns serve nasal surgery. However, the Peck-Joseph has a slightly different blade profile. Therefore some surgeons keep one of each. Then they choose by the step. In addition, the compact length keeps the tips steady under the skin. Also, the fine blades limit trauma during undermining.
Reprocessing Joseph scissors
Clean the fine blades gently. Next, rinse and dry by hand. Then keep them in a slotted rack.
