Description
Partial Impression Trays, Perforated without Rim Lock
The perforated plain partial tray is a sectional lower tray with rows of holes and a smooth border. It suits quick impressions of one segment, where alginate or a light elastomer can key through the steel.
No Bead, No Fuss
The edge has no rim lock, so nothing catches on the lip or cheek. That said, the holes still give firm mechanical retention. Many users find that enough for alginate.
All Six Codes Explained
You can order L2D, L2S, L4D, L4S, L6D or L6S. The letters mark two mirror shapes. The numbers mark size, with 2 the largest and 6 the smallest.
Choosing Your Size
- Use the 2 size for a longer segment.
- Try the 4 size for an average span.
- Reach for the 6 size for one tooth in a small mouth.
Partial or Full Arch?
Partial trays use less material and feel lighter for the patient. However, they do not record the whole arch. For study models, a full tray is still the better pick. On the other hand, for one crown on a lower molar, the partial often gives a cleaner result with less mess.
Reprocessing the Holes
Clean the tray soon after use, before material dries in the perforations. An ultrasonic cycle helps loosen what the brush misses. After that, rinse well and dry before packing.
It reaches you non-sterile, and with proper cleaning and sterilization this perforated plain partial tray is reusable many times. Intrace sets the spec, and inspection happens in the United States. The stainless steel meets ASTM F899. In addition, every perforated sectional tray carries three years against manufacturing defects, plain border included. The full-arch plain-border trays cover a whole upper or lower arch. Our impression and hollowware products page lists more, and the FAQ may help.
