When you only need one segment of the lower arch, a perforated partial rim lock tray saves material and chair time. It covers a quadrant or short section, for work such as a single crown or a short bridge.

D and S Mirror Shapes

The range comes in two mirror-image shapes, the D series and the S series. Each one fits a different side of the jaw. So check the shape against the area you need before you order.

Six Trays, Three Sizes

• L2D and L2S: the largest pair
• L4D and L4S: the medium pair
• L6D and L6S: the smallest pair

These sizes line up with the L2, L4 and L6 full-arch lowers, so the fit feels familiar.

Double Retention for Small Impressions

A small impression has less surface to hold on. For this reason, the tray uses both holes and a rim lock. The holes anchor the body, while the bead stops the edge from lifting.

Seating a Sectional Tray

First, try the tray over the prepared tooth and its neighbors. Next, check that the opposing teeth do not strike the steel. Then load and seat with steady pressure.

Less Material, Less Waste

A smaller tray needs less alginate or elastomer per case. It also feels lighter for the patient, which often helps with gaggers. In addition, there is less to scrub and pack after the visit, so turnaround between patients gets quicker.

When to Pick a Full Arch

Sectional trays only record part of the jaw. So for study models, opposing casts or long spans, reach for a full-arch tray instead.

The tray goes out non-sterile, and you can reuse it after you clean and sterilize it. Every perforated partial tray carries three years against manufacturing defects, rim lock bead included.
