Parallelometer Mouth Mirror With Handle
When two or more teeth are prepared for a bridge, their walls must share one path of insertion. A parallelometer mouth mirror helps the dentist check that alignment directly in the mouth. From our Atlanta stock, Intrace USA supplies two forms taken from the mirror pages of the supplier catalogue.
Checking Parallel Walls Chairside
Undercuts or converging walls can stop a fixed prosthesis from seating. So the dentist looks at the prepared abutments in the mirror from a fixed viewpoint. Then any wall that tips out of line becomes easier to spot before an impression is taken. As a result, corrections happen at the preparation stage rather than at try-in.
Detachable Head
This option pairs the parallelometer mirror head with our standard catalogue handle. Because the head comes off, it can be replaced on its own if the glass wears. Also, a practice that already uses this handle style keeps a consistent feel across its mirrors.
One-piece
The second option is a single unit with mirror and handle joined. There is no thread to loosen or clean around, which some offices prefer for reprocessing. However, the whole instrument must be replaced when the glass eventually wears. Compare the two photos to see the head shape and handle of each.
Choosing Between the Two
For a crown and bridge practice that already stocks spare heads, the detachable version fits easily into the system. Meanwhile, a clinic that wants a dedicated instrument in its prosthodontic kit may lean toward the one-piece form.
A United States team member inspects each mirror before dispatch. Whether detachable or fixed, the parallelometer glass and its handle carry a pledge running three years against manufacturing defects. Before the first bridge case, wash and sterilize the mirror, since it leaves our warehouse non-sterile.
The handle steel complies with ASTM F899. View our diagnostic and restorative instrument range, see spare Mouth Mirror Handles, or browse our FAQs.
