Description
Micro Needle Holders, Spring Handle
Fine sutures in periodontal plastic surgery or around implants need a light holder that responds to fingertip pressure. This micro needle holder uses a spring handle, so it opens on its own when you relax your grip. Our supplier catalogue lists it on its needle holders pages in four versions. Before shipping, a United States inspector works the spring and checks how the jaws meet on each one.
Why a Spring Handle Suits Micro Work
Ring handled holders need the fingers to open and close them, which can move the tip. A spring handle, however, is held like a pencil and rolled between the fingers. As a result, small needles go through thin tissue with less wrist motion. Many periodontists also find it less tiring over long grafting sessions.
Choosing Among the Four Options
Three of the options are 18 cm long. The 18 cm, Tungsten Carbide version has carbide jaw inserts that hold fine needles firmly and keep their grip for longer. The 18 cm, Curved version angles the jaws, which helps when you suture palatal or distal sites. Then there is the plain 18 cm version, a standard jaw option for general fine suturing. Finally, the 14 cm, Tungsten Carbide version is shorter, so it gives closer control at anterior sites. If the right jaw style is unclear, compare the option photos before you order.
Material, First Use and Warranty
The holder is stainless steel, and the carbide options add tungsten carbide jaw inserts. It arrives non-sterile; open the jaws, clean the spring area and sterilize it before the first patient. Also, spring, jaws and inserts on this micro needle holder all fall under three years against manufacturing defects, no exceptions.
The ASTM F899 standard covers stainless steel for surgical use. Further delicate tools are listed under our Maxillofacial Surgery Instruments range. When trimming sutures with the same delicate feel, the Metzenbaum-Delicat scissors pair nicely. Order and returns details are in our FAQs.
