Description
Nance Loop Closing Pliers
Stop loops and Adams clasps both need tight, accurate bends. These Nance loop closing pliers handle both. Rectangular wire to .022” x .028” suits them, as does round wire to 0.7 mm.
Two Jobs, One Pattern
The catalogue names two main uses. First, the plier bends stop loops in archwire. Second, it forms Adams clasps for removable appliances. So the same plier can move from the chair to the lab bench in one day.
Stop Loops at the Chair
A stop loop gives the archwire a set point. You can form it during an archwire change, then check its position against the brackets. If it sits wrong, adjust it while the wire is still out. That saves a second trip to the chair.
- Bends stop loops
- Forms Adams clasps
- Wire up to .022” x .028”
- Round wire up to 0.7 mm
Adams Clasps in the Lab
At the bench, a technician uses the same tool for clasp arms. Then the clasp is tuned on the model. Because the plier covers both tasks, a small lab can keep its kit short.
Stay Within the Rating
Rectangular wire above .022” x .028” can strain the beaks. Likewise, round wire above 0.7 mm is too thick. Pick a heavier plier for those jobs. Also inspect the tips each week, since uneven tips make uneven loops.
Cleaning Routine
Rinse soon after use. Then scrub the joint, dry the plier and oil it lightly. A free action helps you feel how far a bend has gone.
This plier ships non-sterile from us. It is reusable after cleaning and sterilisation. Its design follows our spec.
Within three years against manufacturing defects, we sort out any fault that comes from the build. Each one is stainless steel to ASTM F899. For the stop itself, the V-bend stop pliers give a 1 mm bend. See more in our orthodontic store, and use our FAQ guide for order questions.
