Museux Tonsil Seizing Forceps

Museux tonsil seizing forceps grasp the tonsil and hold it under tension. With the tonsil pulled toward the midline, the surgeon can find the plane between tonsil and muscle.

Traction during dissection

Tonsil dissection depends on steady traction. So an assistant or the surgeon holds the tonsil with these forceps. The capsule then separates more easily from the bed below.

Curved, 20 cm

We supply the Museux pattern with a curved shape and a 20 cm length. The curve helps the jaws meet the tonsil at a good angle. Also, the length keeps the grip clear of the mouth gag.

Working with the rest of the tray

Once the gag opens the mouth, the seizing forceps take hold of the tonsil. For example, a dissector then works around the capsule. Finally, a snare or knife frees the lower pole.
