Description
Modified Plastic Filling Instruments
Placing and shaping composite or other soft restorative material calls for small, smooth working ends. These modified plastic filling instruments come in a wide numbered range, so a practice can build a set around its own technique. Intrace USA, an Atlanta distributor, lists sixteen choices here.
The Plain Figure Numbers
The base series starts at Fig. 0 and climbs in single steps up to Fig. 7, with Fig. 19 standing apart as its own pattern. Each number identifies a different working end on the supplier page. However, no written dimensions accompany these labels. Therefore, open the product photo for each figure and compare blade and nib shapes before ordering.
What the A and B Suffixes Mean Here
Some figures appear more than once. Fig. 3 A, Fig. 4 A, Fig. 5 A and Fig. 7 A form one group, while Fig. 4 B, Fig. 5 B and Fig. 7 B form another. The listing treats each letter as its own variant of that numbered end. Since the label gives nothing further, check the photos to see how the A or B version differs from the plain figure.
Building a Restorative Kit From the Range
Most dentists do not need every figure. Instead, start with a flat carrying blade, a condensing nib and a narrow end for interproximal areas. Then add a lettered version only if its shape suits a step you repeat often. For example, a clinic doing many Class II restorations may keep two figures with slim ends.
Checked in the USA and Covered by Warranty
Every filling instrument gets a visual check from our United States staff before it ships. Whichever figure you pick, it is guaranteed by us three years against manufacturing defects, so a loose working end or flawed finish is our responsibility. They are delivered unsterilized; wash, dry and autoclave each one first.
