Description
Misch Socket Scoop Angled
The Misch socket scoop is an angled 4 mm curette for clearing an extraction socket. Use it to lift out granulation tissue and debride the walls before a graft or an implant. It comes in a Left and a Right version.
After the Tooth Comes Out
Once the root is out, soft tissue often stays behind in the socket. If you leave it, it can get in the way of a graft. The scoop lets you scrape the walls and reach the base. Then you can irrigate and check the socket before the next step.
Left, Right and the 4 mm End
- Left: angled toward one side of the socket
- Right: angled the other way, as its mirror
- Both share a 4 mm working end
Because the two hands mirror each other, a pair lets you reach every wall without awkward wrist angles. Still, you can buy either hand on its own.
Scooping Without Harming Bone
Work with light, short strokes. Keep a finger rest close to the site. Also, follow the socket walls rather than digging into them, since the buccal plate can be thin. Where an implant is planned, that plate is worth protecting. Above all, the Misch socket scoop should clean, not reshape.
Its Place on a Surgical Tray
Lay the scoop out after the elevators and forceps. It pairs well with periotomes on implant cases, where a gentle extraction leads straight into site work.
Clearing the Cup After Use
Tissue clings inside the cup. So rinse it at once, then brush the inner face with a soft brush. Check the rim for burrs before the next cycle.
Supply and Cover
Each scoop is made to our specification and gets a final inspection on US soil. Its stainless steel meets the ASTM F899 standard. The scoop travels unsterilized, so put it through cleaning and an autoclave cycle; from then on it is reusable. You also gain three years against manufacturing defects on either hand. For gentle extraction first, see the periotome handle and blades. Our extraction elevators and frequently asked questions are one click away.
