Micro-Mosquito Artery Forceps
Micro mosquito forceps are the smallest hemostats in this range. Their slender jaws suit delicate plastic, hand and paediatric work.
10 cm or 12 cm
The 10 cm size gives the finest control close to the field. However, the 12 cm size adds a little reach for deeper small vessels.
Straight or curved
Straight jaws suit a direct approach. Meanwhile, curved jaws let you see the tips as you clamp.
Serrated or 1:2 teeth
Serrated jaws hold without piercing. On the other hand, 1:2 teeth add grip on fine tissue that tends to slip.
Where the small size helps
A standard mosquito clamp can crowd a small incision. So many surgeons switch to the micro pattern for eyelids, digits and small children. Also, the light weight means the forceps hang without dragging on tissue. As a result, you can leave several on the field at once without distorting it.
Reprocessing micro mosquito forceps
Handle the fine tips gently, since a knock can misalign them. Clean them with a soft brush, rinse and dry by hand. Then store them in a protective rack.
