Description
Micro Elevators, 17.2 cm
Thin tissue tears when an oversized instrument goes under it. A micro periosteal elevator reduces that risk by bringing a smaller working end to the site. These come from the periodontal microsurgery section of the supplier catalogue. All three patterns share the same 17.2 cm length, so they balance alike in the hand.
Patterns #1, #2 and #3
The catalogue numbers these micro elevators 1, 2 and 3. It does not, however, give a separate tip dimension for each number. Therefore, the best way to choose is to compare the photos, which show the shape and angle of each working end. Many periodontists buy all three, since microsurgery often needs a different approach angle at each papilla.
- #1: first pattern in the micro elevator series
- #2: second pattern, same 17.2 cm length
- #3: third pattern, same 17.2 cm length
Where Micro Instruments Make Sense
Papilla preservation flaps, tunneling, and graft placement around single teeth all involve delicate tissue. In those cases, a micro elevator lets you work under magnification without crowding the field. Meanwhile, the 17.2 cm length still keeps your fingers outside the mouth.
Handling Under Magnification
Under loupes or a microscope, small hand movements look large. So a lighter, slimmer instrument feels more controlled. Rest your fingers on adjacent teeth, then use short strokes.
Checked Stateside and Covered
We inspect every micro elevator in the United States before it is packed. It arrives non-sterile, which means it needs cleaning and sterilization before the first case. Each numbered pattern also receives three years against manufacturing defects, so a fine tip that fails early is replaced.
The stainless steel meets ASTM F899. For fine tissue handling at the same scale, add the Micro Adson Tissue Forceps. Also see Dental Implant Instruments and Diagnostic, Periodontal and Restorative Instruments, plus our FAQs.
Micro elevators are sold for trained professionals practicing periodontal microsurgery. See care and sterilization for handling fine tips, and shipping and delivery for timing.
