Mesh Basket with Handles

A mesh basket with handles keeps loose instruments together as they move from the sink to the washer and on to the autoclave. In addition, an internal divider wire splits the floor into two zones, so you can part sharp tips from heavier tools.

Why woven wire helps the cycle

Solid trays can trap water and shade the load. By contrast, open mesh lets spray jets and steam pass through on all faces. As a result, items tend to come out cleaner and drier.

Seven sizes to pick from

Each size reads length × width × height in mm. Choose by the rack you run and the depth your bulkiest items need.

• Half size, 240 × 130 mm, in 50 or 60 mm heights, for small kits and burs.
• Standard, 240 × 250 mm, again in 50 or 60 mm heights.
• Long, 480 × 250 mm, in 50, 60 or 70 mm heights, for full sets of hand tools.
• Other sizes on request.

Using the divider wire

The divider is a simple wire across the basket. For example, place scalers on one side and mirrors or pliers on the other. That way, fine tips do not rub against bulky steel.

Loading tips for the washer

First, open hinged tools so the joints face the spray. Next, lay items in a single layer where you can. Avoid packing the basket above the rim, because a crowded load blocks water flow. Then run the cycle your washer maker sets for instruments.

Into the autoclave and onto the shelf

Once washed, the basket moves straight into a pouch or wrap for the autoclave. This handled basket arrives non-sterile; wash and autoclave the handled basket before it carries its first load. From then on it is reusable, cycle after cycle.

Every mesh basket with side handles carries three years against manufacturing defects, handles and divider wire included.
