Description
Mathieu-Ryder Needle Holder, Tungsten Carbide
The Mathieu-Ryder needle holder sits in the palm instead of on your fingers. It pairs Mathieu spring handles with slim Ryder-style carbide jaws.
Palm grip and ratchet
You squeeze the curved handles of the Mathieu-Ryder needle holder to lock the ratchet. Then a firmer squeeze releases it, so you never need rings. Also, the palm grip lets you rotate the needle with your whole hand.
Mini or micro profile
The mini profile suits finer sutures. By contrast, micro inserts carry the finest teeth of all, for fine vascular thread. So you can match serration to thread size.
Five lengths
Sizes run from 17 to 24 cm across five steps. As a result, you can match reach to the depth of the closure. Plus, each size keeps the same palm-grip feel.
Who prefers it
Surgeons who favor a palm grip often choose this holder for long closures. Also, a Mathieu-Ryder needle holder spares you from slipping fingers into rings. Pick micro for vascular sutures and mini for general fine work.
Cleaning Mathieu-Ryder needle holder
Before cleaning, release the ratchet so the jaws open fully. Next, brush the spring, ratchet and inserts. Then dry the holder fully and store it unlocked, so the spring can rest.
