Description
Boynton Needle Holder
Our Boynton needle holder offers straight or curved jaws in a small frame. Choose 12 or 13 cm, in plain steel or carbide.
Straight or curved
Straight jaws suit flat, open closures. By contrast, curved jaws angle the needle around contours and into recesses. The curve also lifts your hand away from the skin surface.
Mini-profile carbide
The carbide version adds a mini serration for mid-fine threads. Plus, the gold handles make it easy to spot on the tray. Carbide keeps the Boynton needle holder gripping well over many cycles.
Short sizes
Both lengths fit small fields. So the holder feels light during long rows of interrupted stitches. The 13 cm size gives a little extra room for larger hands.
Choosing a jaw
Many surgeons keep one straight and one curved pair together. Then they switch as the wound shape changes. For example, curved jaws help around the ear or nose. Also, the small frame travels well in field kits.
Reprocessing Boynton needle holder
Clean the Boynton needle holder soon after use. First, brush the jaws along the curve, not across it. Next, dry it fully and store it with the jaws just touching.
