Description
Mathieu-Kocher Needle Holder, Tungsten Carbide
The Mathieu-Kocher needle holder combines palm-grip Mathieu handles with sturdy, broad jaws for everyday use. Tungsten carbide inserts with a normal profile hold general sutures securely.
Mathieu handles
The handles of the Mathieu-Kocher needle holder rest across your palm. So you close the ratchet with your whole hand rather than your fingertips. Also, a firmer squeeze opens the ratchet again.
Normal profile
A regular serration holds everyday needles and sutures. In addition, the carbide inserts keep their teeth far longer than plain steel. So it stays reliable through heavy use.
Five lengths
The 14 and 15 cm sizes suit skin and orthopedic closures. Meanwhile, the 17 to 20 cm sizes reach fascia and deeper layers. Then pick a size by the depth of the layer you close.
Where it fits
Orthopedic and general teams often like a palm grip for heavy, repeated suturing. Then the Mathieu-Kocher needle holder lets the hand stay relaxed. Plus, gold handles separate it from stainless holders in the set.
Reprocessing Mathieu-Kocher needle holder
Open the ratchet fully before you wash the holder. Next, clean between the handles where the spring meets the ratchet. Also, dry every part, including the spring, to stop spotting and stains.
