Description
Luxating Root Elevators
Our luxating root elevators come as seven figures, Fig. 1 to Fig. 7. Each one has a thin, tapered, sharp blade on a pear-shaped handle that sits deep in the palm. So the hand stays calm while the tip does fine work in the ligament space.
Cutting, not prying
A luxating blade differs from a classic elevator. First, slide the tip into the PDL space along the root. Then press gently toward the apex and add small turns. As a result, the edge severs fibres and widens the socket bit by bit. Never treat it as a lever, and never twist it hard against bone or the next tooth.
Seven figures across three widths
Across the set of figures you will find blade widths of 2 mm, 3 mm and 5 mm, in straight and curved forms. In general, start with the narrowest blade the space accepts. A few tips help:
- Pick a narrow figure for slim incisor and premolar roots.
- Move to a wider figure once the ligament space gives way.
- Keep a curved form for surfaces you cannot meet head-on.
- Stock spare copies of the figures you use every day.
Why the bulb grip helps
The rounded handle fills the hand, so light, steady force comes easily. Also, keep a firm finger rest, so a slip stops short of the cheek or palate.
Planning for an implant site
Because the blade cuts rather than pries, it helps you keep the buccal plate whole. In practice, many clinicians loosen the root this way before forceps when an implant will follow.
Single figures or the full group
Every figure arrives non-sterile; a wash plus sterilization puts it back on the tray for case after case. We commission each one to our specification from stainless steel meeting ASTM F899, and each passes inspection in the United States. A matching 7-piece set also exists. Our warranty term for these figures is three years against manufacturing defects, counted from when the parcel lands.
