Description
Lid for Solid Instrument Tray
A tray without its cover leaves clean tools exposed. This solid instrument tray lid fits the solid-base tray system and restores a closed kit.
Dimensions and the two versions
Our catalogue gives the lid as 288 × 187 × 29 mm. You can choose the version for 16 instruments or for 23. Since the cover must match the base and frame beneath it, order the same option as your tray. If you are unsure, check the label on your base first.
Why keep a lid on
Usually, covered kits stay cleaner on the shelf. They also travel better, because nothing slides off when staff carry them. In addition, a lid gives you a flat top for a label or an indicator strip.
Typical reasons for a spare
- A cover warped or dented after years of use
- You have more bases than lids, so some kits sit open
- You want a backup for peak days
- Your team adds new kits to the system
Using the lid day to day
Set the solid instrument tray lid over the loaded frame and make sure it seats evenly. If it rocks, check the frame for a bent rail before the cycle. Then process the closed tray as your sterilizer and pouch makers advise. After the cycle, let it dry fully before storage.
Arrival and cleaning
This part ships non-sterile. Hence, clean and sterilize it before its first cycle. From then on, you can reuse it many times, just like the base and frame. Because it is plain stainless, it needs no special care beyond your normal routine.
Quality backing and related parts
The lid follows our specification, with inspection carried out in the United States. It meets ASTM F899 for stainless in surgical tools. Our warranty protects it for three years against manufacturing defects. Need the floor too? See the solid tray base. Also, our full tray category and help center have more.
