The le cron wax carver is a classic double-ended instrument with a spoon-shaped end and a pointed blade. Lab technicians use this le cron wax carver to add and shape wax, while dentists use it for small adjustments to restorative material. It is one of the most common carvers on a dental bench.

Four Styles, One Carver Name

The supplier catalogue lists four Le Cron rows, and we sell each one as a style. Style 1, Style 2 and Style 3 sit together on one catalogue page. Style 4 appears on the following page. The catalogue labels them all simply as Le Cron, so the differences are visual only.

How to Choose a Style

Because no written notes separate the four, the photos are your guide. Look at the handle shape and diameter, then at the size of the spoon and blade. For instance, some technicians prefer a heavier handle for long wax sessions, whereas others like a slim one. If you already own a Le Cron, match the photo to it for a familiar feel.

Working With Wax

Warm the spoon end slightly to pick up and flow wax onto a pattern. Next, let it cool and then shape the surface with the pointed blade. Finally, smooth the contours with light strokes before checking occlusion on the articulator.

Chairside Uses

At the chair, a Le Cron can also shape soft restorative material or remove small excess. However, keep separate carvers for lab wax and clinical use, so wax residue never reaches a patient.

Every Le Cron carver is stainless steel and is inspected by our Atlanta staff in the United States before packing. It is supplied unsterilized, so clean it and sterilize it before any clinical use. All four Le Cron styles come with our pledge of three years against manufacturing defects in spoon and blade.
