Description
Langenbeck-Ryder Needle Holder, Tungsten Carbide
The Langenbeck-Ryder needle holder blends a slim Langenbeck body with fine Ryder-style jaws. Tungsten carbide inserts with a mini profile complete the design.
Mini profile
Mini profile inserts carry a finer serration than the regular pattern. So they hold finer sutures without letting the needle turn. Also, the carbide keeps that finer grip over time.
Slim, long body
The narrow shanks slip into tight spaces. Meanwhile, the Langenbeck-Ryder needle holder keeps ring handles and a ratchet for a secure feel. So it feels like a regular ring holder in the hand.
Three lengths
All three sizes start at 18 cm or more. As a result, this holder leans toward deeper closures rather than skin work. Then choose 20 or 23 cm for the deepest spaces.
Where it fits
Vascular, thoracic and gynecologic surgeons often reach for a slim holder at depth. Then the Langenbeck-Ryder needle holder carries finer sutures into that space. Pair the 23 cm size with long dissecting forceps.
Reprocessing Langenbeck-Ryder needle holder
Rinse the inserts before blood dries in the serration. Next, clean the ratchet and box joint with a brush. Finally, dry the holder and inspect the carbide for chips.
