Description
Jameson Needle Holder
The Jameson needle holder is a long pattern, offered in 23 cm and 23.5 cm. It grips a suture needle firmly at the far end of a long body. We list it in our needle holder group, and we describe it plainly, without extra claims.
Two Long Lengths
The two sizes differ by only half a centimetre. So the choice often comes down to matching an existing set. However, if you have no set to match, pick the one that feels balanced in your hand.
Why a Long Jameson Helps
A long holder keeps your hand back from a deep field. Also it gives more leverage when a needle meets firm tissue. But a long tool magnifies small hand moves, so steady support helps.
Loading a Needle in the Jameson Jaws
Grip the needle about one third back from the eye. Then close the jaws firmly but not hard. Too much pressure can flatten a fine needle.
- 23 cm or 23.5 cm overall
- Long reach for deep fields
- Firm jaw grip on the needle
- Reusable after sterilization
Where the Jameson Fits
Most of our holders are short micro patterns for the anterior eye. This Jameson needle holder sits apart from them. In practice, buyers choose it when reach matters more than delicacy.
Looking After Long Jaws
Open the holder fully for cleaning. Next, brush the jaws to clear thread fibers and tissue. After drying, put a drop of instrument lubricant on the joint and work it a few times.
We ship it non-sterile; cleaned and sterilized correctly, it is ready for repeated cases. The stainless steel follows ASTM F899, and our own checks in the United States confirm fit and finish. A three-year cover applies, namely three years against manufacturing defects. For fine anterior work, see the Stevens micro needle holder. Our ophthalmic surgical category has more holders, and our questions page explains ordering.
Professional use only. See how to reprocess it and when it will arrive.
