Description
Derf Needle Holder
The Derf needle holder is one of the smallest ring-handled holders we sell. It suits delicate skin, eyelid and paediatric closures.
Standard or longitudinal jaws
The standard pattern uses a cross-hatched grip. However, the longitudinal pattern runs grooves lengthwise and steadies the needle in line. Pick the one that matches how you load needles.
Carbide mini profile
Carbide inserts add a mini serration under gold handles. As a result, fine needles stay put without extra squeeze. Plain steel jaws suit lighter use at a lower cost.
Three small lengths
We offer 12, 12.5 and 13 cm. So you can match the size to your hand and field. Even the longest one keeps a light, delicate feel.
Where it fits
Pick this holder when a full-size instrument feels clumsy. For example, it suits small lacerations on children. Next to it, keep fine forceps and small iris scissors. A Derf needle holder also slips easily into a compact suture kit.
Care of Derf needle holder
Treat the small Derf tips gently during cleaning. First, rinse the Derf needle holder and then brush the jaws gently. Then dry it and store it in a rack so nothing presses on the tips.
