Description
Barraquer-Troutman Micro Needle Holder
The Barraquer-Troutman needle holder combines two eye-surgery patterns in a 10 cm frame. You can choose straight or curved jaws.
Very short
At 10 cm, it ranks among the shortest holders we sell. So your fingertips stay right beside the eye. That closeness gives very fine control over each bite.
Straight or curved
Straight jaws drive the needle along the handle’s line. By contrast, curved jaws follow the rounded surface of the globe. Your usual approach decides which shape fits best.
Barraquer spring
The spring handle opens the jaws smoothly on release. Plus, it gives a light, steady feel. It suits a gentle, fingertip grip. The light build also reduces hand strain in long corneal cases.
Where it fits
Eye surgeons often pick this holder for corneal suturing. Then they keep a longer Castroviejo pattern for other steps. Also, a spare holder avoids delays. Plus, it takes little tray space. So it fits easily beside longer eye instruments. Also, the short body sits comfortably between thumb and finger. So it suits long runs of fine stitches near the eye.
Reprocessing Barraquer-Troutman needle holder
Rinse the tips gently in distilled water. Next, brush them lightly and dry them with filtered air. Finally, store the holder with a tip guard in place.
