Description
Freeman Repositioning Eye Cannula
The Freeman repositioning eye cannula combines a blunt tip with an irrigating bore. You can push, rotate or settle tissue while fluid keeps the chamber formed. Because it does two jobs, it can save a pass through the wound.
Moving tissue with flow
Repositioning tasks need a tip that pushes without cutting. Here the tip stays blunt, so it can nudge a lens, an iris edge or a flap into place. Meanwhile, the fluid flow keeps space open and clears the view. Use it where a gentle push is all you need. For example, it can settle an implant haptic that sits slightly off center, or smooth a fold in a flap.
Holding and steering
Hold the hub like a pen and rest your hand on the brow. Then set a low flow before entry. Small rotations of the hub change the tip’s direction. Also, avoid pushing toward the endothelium, since contact there can harm the cornea. If the tissue resists, stop and add viscoelastic rather than pushing harder.
Pattern details
This item comes as a single pattern with no sizes to choose. Overall, you get:
- Blunt repositioning tip
- Irrigating bore
- Syringe or line hub
- Steel body for repeat use
Freeman cannula aftercare
Flush the bore right away so saline does not dry inside. Next, soak it in an enzyme cleaner, then rinse well. Dry the lumen with air before packing. It ships non-sterile, though it is reusable after each round of cleaning and sterilization.
