Description
Westcott Tenotomy Scissors
Westcott tenotomy scissors offer the widest choice in this group. You can pick a 10 or 11 cm length, blunt/blunt or sharp/sharp tips, and a curved left, curved right or straight shape. That lets you match the scissors to the case and the hand.
Tip Type: Blunt or Sharp
Blunt/blunt tips push tissue apart without piercing it. So they suit blunt dissection near muscles and vessels. Sharp/sharp tips, in contrast, open firm tissue and make crisp snips in conjunctiva.
Curved Left, Curved Right or Straight
Typically, curved blades follow the globe and give a clear view past the tips. Choose the curve that matches your hand and the side of approach. Then keep a straight pair for linear cuts.
Westcott Tenotomy Length
The 10 cm length is compact and quick. Meanwhile, the 11 cm length adds reach for deeper fornix work.
- Lengths: 10 cm and 11 cm
- Tips: blunt/blunt or sharp/sharp
- Shapes: curved left, curved right, straight
- Spring handle for fine snips
Typical Tenotomy Cases
In general, Westcott tenotomy scissors appear in strabismus surgery, conjunctival work and glaucoma procedures. They also help with fine dissection in lid and orbital cases.
Tenotomy Care and Storage
First, rinse the blades after each case. Then brush around the joint and dry fully. Also keep sharp-tip pairs apart from blunt ones, so staff pick the right pair quickly.
All versions ship non-sterile and may be reused once you clean and sterilize them. The stainless steel used conforms to ASTM F899, and every pair gets checked in the United States. Your Westcott pair gets three years against manufacturing defects from us. For a simpler choice of curved or straight only, see the Westcott micro scissors.
