Description
Euro Breech-Loading Aspirating Syringe, T-Handle
This t-handle breech syringe joins two traits in one body. The cartridge loads from the back, and the thumb pushes on a wide T-shaped rest. A finger flange sits up front, and the syringe takes a standard 1.8 ml cartridge.
Feel of a T-shaped thumb rest
A T rest spreads the load across the pad of the thumb. Because of that, a long or firm push can feel easier on the joint. Many users like it for thick tissue, where steady force helps.
How you draw back
There is no ring to hook your thumb through. Instead, you grip the arms of the T with thumb and finger and ease it back. The harpoon then pulls the stopper with it. Practise the motion before chairside use.
Rear loading, step by step
Open the rear end and slide the cartridge in, stopper last. Close it, then push the T so the harpoon bites. Next, fit a sterile needle at the front and test the flow.
- T-shaped thumb rest
- Breech loading from the back
- Finger flange for control
Picking between the breech models
If you aspirate many times per visit, the ring version is quicker. However, if comfort on the push matters most, the t-handle breech syringe may suit you.
Care notes
Clean the bore from the rear with a brush, since the barrel is closed. Also wipe the T and flange where gloves touch them.
We dispatch the T-handle breech syringe non-sterile; once cleaned and autoclaved it is ready for the chair. Its steel parts are in line with ASTM F899. Every T-handle breech syringe carries three years against manufacturing defects, rear loading gate included. See the full syringe lineup, the ring-handle breech syringe, or our help answers.
